1. Which method is better?  One method of carpet cleaning is as good as another?  NO!  The dry cleaning methods, which are dry foam, dry chemicals, and dry compound, do not rinse your carpet in any way.  The most effective cleaning method is hot water extraction.  Hot water extraction means a hot water cleaning solution under high pressure is forced into your carpet and then sucked out of your carpet.  Shaw Industries, the word's largest carpet manufacturer, recommends hot water extraction as the primary method of cleaning carpets.
   
   
2. Cleaning your carpet yourself is a waste of time and money.  Sure you can rent a machine or buy one, but how much of those contaminants do you think it will really get out?  If it worked one-tenth as well as our professional equipment, I would never have spent the money on REAL cleaning equipment.  Most home and rental machines are just toys.
